
My Education
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wake Forest University. In 2007, I graduated from UNC Greensboro with a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
My Related Experience
I have been working with children and families in clinical settings conducting both assessments and psychotherapy treatment for over 20 years.
My Special Training or Certifications
I am certified as a Health Services Provider by the NC Psychology Board.
My Areas of Focus
I use a variety of therapy strategies when working with clients during individual or family therapy. I have expertise assessing and treating school-aged children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a variety of difficulties, such as:
- ADHD, ODD and behavioral concerns
- Anxiety
- Mood disorders
- Grief and loss
- Anger management
- Adjustment disorders
- Military families coping with challenges unique to this population
My Purpose for Choosing Counseling/Psychology
I am a strong supporter of assisting clients to develop coping skills to live fuller, healthier, and happier lives. I try to create a caring and empathetic therapy environment which allows clients to have a solid foundation while working comfortably and successfully toward making changes. These changes promote growth and enable meeting of personal and life goals.
My Life Outside the Office
I love animals. I have a tortoiseshell cat and a Beagle dog. I spend a lot of my free time at the lake boating with my husband, daughter, and friends.
